What do the woods look like?
Walnut – Has a dark color tone to it and a complicated thick grain pattern. Finished with Tung Oil to bring out the thick grain pattern and deeply penetrate the wood. Mahogany – Darker reddish tint. Has a speckled grain pattern. Stained to get a more uniform coloring and enhance the already gorgeous color. Then the porous grain is sealed with a shellac and the outer coats are of polyurethane to add strength and protection to the finish and leaves it slightly glossy. Cherry – A slight reddish tint with a beautiful swirly grain. Can be stained to achieve a darker tint or finished with its natural color. Finishing includes Tung oil to help bring out the swirls in the grain pattern. Oak – A Texas standard! Probably the most common and one of the cheapest and most durable hardwoods. Has a natural light color but takes stains better than almost any other wood. The grain has thick growth rings with little speckles spread throughout the grain.
