What do the various Levels mean?
Here’s what Clermont County’s sheriff has to say, but the levels apply in all counties: Under Ohio law County Sheriffs may (but are not required to) declare “Snow Advisories” as appropriate. When the condition of roads and highways within Clermont County has become impaired as the result of snow or ice, a snow advisory may be declared. There are three levels of Snow Advisories: Level One: “ROADWAYS ARE HAZARDOUS WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. ROADS ARE ALSO ICY. DRIVE VERY CAUTIOUSLY.” This level of snow advisory will rarely be used or declared in Clermont County. It is merely advisory in nature and its content should be readily apparent to motorists. A Level One advisory can be issued when downgrading a Level Two advisory, to indicate road conditions have improved. Level Two: “ROADWAYS ARE HAZARDOUS WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.
