What do the “types of site” refer to? Does an information site theme work for a media site?
We’ve tried to help you by tagging our themes as the type of site that they will work best for. Some are simpler designs that work best for large amounts of text content. Most importantly, we’ve also geared the theme styling towards certain modules and features. A social/community site theme will pay special attention to things like comments and user profiles, while a blog/news or information site will have more options for navigation. Also, e-commerce themes have extensive Ubercart theming for building online stores. In the future, we will be highlighting additional site recipes (groups of modules and settings) that will help you build a more feature-rich site of a certain type, like a magazine site, and our themes for that type will include special theming for these features. In practice, any of our theme types will work for any style of Drupal site. You can use an e-commerce theme for your news site, or a media theme for your community site.
