What do the TAKS tests measure?
For every subject and grade assessed, TAKS tests measure parts of the TEKS curriculum that are critical to students’ academic learning and progress. The test questions reflect a wide range of knowledge and skills, from basic to complex. Students’ performance on TAKS shows their academic strengths and weaknesses on the overall test and on each separate test objective, which is simply a grouping of knowledge and skills.
