What do the specific color/finish names mean?
Some colors in the world of beads have specific names. The following is a list of the lesser-known color names and what they mean. Jonquil — A light yellow tone. Siam — A bold and bright red; like a cherry. Jet — A true black. Peridot — A light, soft green. Topaz — A color somewhat darker than amber. Capri – A bright ocean blue color. AB/Aurora Borealis — A coating that is usually applied to only one side of a bead or crystal, that has a metallic silver/blue shine. Vitrial — A coating much like AB, but with more of a gold tint. Opaque and Translucent — Opaque is solid color, which you cannot see through; Translucent is a cloudy finish through which you can see.
