What do the rooms look like in the Birthing Suites?
Above: Birthing Suite Room (click for enlarged image) The rooms in the Birthing Suite are standard with a delivery bed, baby bed, side table, guest chair and telephone. Mothers will stay in this room during their labour and delivery and for approximately 2 hours after they deliver. We encourage labouring mothers to have one support person with them at all times, including doulas, spouses or partners. Other support people are welcome to be with you upon your request. They may be asked to leave the room if you or your baby(s) require immediate medical attention and the staff feel they are unable to properly care for you because there are too many people in the room. These rooms are not booked and are filled based on need.
