What do the Report Cards and Progress Reports mean?
Daily grades for report cards: 3+ = Exceeding. 3+ is a grade earned by going above what is required in class. This grade is based on student connections, individual initiative, etc. 3 = Meeting expectations. A 3 is a grade earned by completing all assignments, demonstrating mastery of the skills taught, and following teacher’s directives on assignments. 2 = Progressing. A 2 is a grade earned by completing all assignments, demonstrating some mastery of the skills taught, but needing teacher or peer assistance on some level of the skills focused on. A 2 means a child is learning and growing, but has not fully mastered the skills taught during the unit thus far. 1 = Needs Improvement. A 1 is a grade showing areas of weakness. This grade indicates a child needs support from a teacher or peer to complete an activity or skill being taught.
