What do the recommended budget cuts mean for STEP?
Nothing right now. Some people have suggested cutting funding for STEP in order to balance the state’s budget, but any change to the budget has to go through the Legislature and be approved by the Governor. CYC members and chapters should continue their advocacy efforts to let their local officials know the importance of this program. The State Department of Social Services is moving forward with the implementation of the program.
