What do the Musicians of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra earn?
Musicians’ salaries are set through a collective bargaining process between the Musicians Union and the Indianapolis Symphony Society. Under the current contract that expires August 31, 2006, the base scale wage is $70,200. Longtime members and players with extra responsibilities, such as principals, earn above scale. Additional benefits include health and dental coverage, instrument insurance and a pension plan.
