What do the Morente family mean to flamenco?
Enrique Morente is a patriarch, a master in every sense. The Morente family is an institution. Enrique is a patriarch. And for me personally , Enrique is a master in every sense. He always gives something, both in artistic sense and in a personal sense. Laughing and chatting himself is a pleasure. He shares his heart and he becomes a phenomenal person. On my first album there was a track called “Morente” and I’d already experienced that with him. When you’re young , when someone gives you a place to be, when someone as important as Enrique or Camarón respect you, it really makes a difference. That stays with you. You have always been a guitar player that has surrounded yourself with great vocalists, do you like vocals? I like vocals more and more every day. I like it more everyday and the proof is that I’m always singing. I’m like my son Marcos, he sings from the moment he gets up in the morning until he goes to bed again. He’s always introspective. Sometimes that makes me very emotion
