What do the lyrics in Kelly Clarksons song “Beautiful Disaster” mean?
Just like anyone would tell you, lyrics to a song can be interpreted in any way by the listener. Usually songs are written to relate to people, even if the concept of the song is stretched. That being said, in my opinion, I look at the song in how it relates to me. It seems like a tale of someone in her life who she has a hard time loving, but at the same time, can’t let go of. She names the beautiful and sentimental pieces of him, but also the ironic other sides of him that she can’t get away from. The lines, “He’s soft to the touch / But frayed at the ends he breaks / He’s never enough / And still he’s more than I can take” in the bridge suggest this theory. But that’s just my interpretation. The lyrics could easily mean something so different to any other person.
