The travel time graphs show real-time travel times eastbound and westbound respectively, between the start of the VTIP/INFORM system (west of the Van Wyck Expressway on the LIE and just west of Exit 10 on the Grand Central Parkway to east of Exit 57 on the LIE and to the end of the Northern State Parkway at Veterans Highway). The exit numbers in blue along the top represent the LIE exits included in the network; the exits in brown along the bottom represent the exits covered on the Grand Central/Northern State Parkway. (You ll note that these numbers do not correspond directly). The lower line (blue or brown) on the graphs closest to the “x” axis show which roadway has faster moving traffic and quicker trip times. This road is the better choice, given current conditions. Trips times for intermediate points can be determined by inspection.
