What do the Flags Mean in NASCAR?
There are eight different flags that the NASCAR officials use. Each color has a different purpose to relay to the driver. Green means go. Yellow means caution. Red means stop. Black means penalty. Black with White “X” means driver did not score because he failed to pit under black. Blue with Yellow Stripe means to allow faster cars to go by you. White means one lap to go. Checkered Flag means race is finished.
