What do the different sororities of the Divine Nine best known for?
First of all, the organizations do not pledge (since 1990), they have “membership intake” programs today and there are all types of women in all the organizations so don’t believe hearsay and stereotypes; things will vary from school to school. Also, please understand that joining one of these organizations is a lifetime commitment; not a social club. Members are expected to transfer to an alumnae chapter after graduating from college and to continue to be active for life, which means paying dues, working with a large group of women, and serving the community for life. As such, it’s very important to research these organizations before deciding on which one to pursue and of course membership is not guaranteed; the organizations reserve the right to select their members based on their criteria and standards.
