What do the colours on the Fijian flag stand for?
The light blue base of the Fijian flag represents the Pacific Ocean. The Union Jack represents Fiji’s ties to Britain. The dove in the coat of arms stands for peace, and the golden lion holding a peeled coconut represents Britain, as does the red cross of St. George of England. Two of the symbols represent Fiji’s colonial background.
