What do the coloured layouts mean in the Forum Topic lists?

Each Forum has it’s own palette, but the colours do not mean anything and are assigned randomly each time you load a Forum page. As well as making the pages more appealing, each time you view a Forum Topic list, you may notice a topic that did not stand out before.
