What do the “Banned” and “In Time-Out” and “Guest” user titles mean?

0

“Banned” means the user’s account has been permanently canceled for breaking forum rules. They know the reason. Bans are issued when major rules are broken or rules are broken repeatedly, to the detriment of other users. “Guest” also means that the user’s account has been canceled, but usually by the user’s request, e.g., if they are no longer eligible for membership. “In Time-Out” means the user’s account has been temporarily suspended for breaking forum rules. They know the reason and the length of the time-out. They will not be able to post until the suspension ends. Time-outs are issued as warnings to follow the rules, with the hope that it will prevent a permanent ban. The severity, frequency, and circumstances of rules violations determine whether bans, time-outs, or infractions are issued. The rules and our moderation guidelines are applied equally to all forum members.
