What do the babies look like when they are born?
They are born fully furred. The babies are immediately viable, see their mother, & follow along behind her for short distances. They keep in touch by emitting soft whistling sounds, answered by the mother’s own whistle. The mother can feed the young for the first 4 weeks, but they also eat other foods after the first week. They feed themselves in about 8 weeks.
