What do sociologists believe?

0

Wow, thats like saying what do politicians believe? There are so many different topics and so many different view points! Main ones I would personally say are: Marxism: derived from the ideas of marx. It’s all about dietic materialism. As we’re in a capitalist epoch, they focus alot of the bourgeoisie (upper class) exploiting the proletartiat (working class) Functionalism: derived from the ideas of durkheim. They mainly believe that everything has a function to society whether it be good or bad. They think that in our society things run smoothly because of a strict cultural law. Interpretists: Should measure sociology by looking at meanings and motives. Positivists: Should measure sociology like a science. Ethnomethodologists: Basically there’s no truth in anything and everything is pointless because we focus on irrellevent things trying to make sense of it, but it wont! There are so many different views for so many different topics!
