What do school social workers do?
People who work in schools, like teachers and principals, are trained to deal with things that have to do with education, teaching lessons and so forth. But there are many students who come to school who have difficulties from home and the community that teachers and principals are not trained to deal with. School social workers can help students and their families find resources to work through some of those problems so that those problems do not interfere with the student being able to do their best in school.
