Many manufacturers seemed to implicate tri-cycle style with the term row-crop. • General Purpose – The general purpose tractor seemed to be associated with a low-profile powerful machine capable of pulling several bottoms effectively but at a reduced fuel efficiency. These were also associated early on with the ability to handle large threshing machines. • Industrial – Industrial machines were frequently for use in factories and road maintenance meaning low center of gravity, in some cases narrow wheelm spacing (to fit through doors), foot throttle and bra kes, and ruggedized frames and bumpers for pushing equipment.
