Professional fundraisers conduct research, plan, and carry out strategies to convince individuals, companies, foundations, and governments to donate money to their nonprofit organizations. All types of nonprofit organizations employ professional fundraisers (e.g. hospitals, private colleges, museums, environmental and social service organizations).
