What do pharmacists do?
The better, if more disturbing question is “What DID pharmacists do”. What they do now is count pills and spit out canned side-effect cautions. What they did before was consult with prescribing physicians and participate as an active member of your personal medical team. Formerly, they deserved the title of “doctor” bestowed upon them after their professional studies. Today, they deal with “customers” not patients. Today, they are “doctors” of pharmacy about as much as a cosmetics salesperson is a doctor of dermatogy.
