I drank raspberry leaf tea and went into labour the next morning. Could just be coincidence as I was 5 days late.

Raspberry leaf tea softens and ripens the cervix in preparation for labour you can safely drink it from 37 weeks onwards. it does not start labour. It also tones the uterine and cervical muscles so that when the contractions start they are more effective. Some believe that because the contractions are more effective this shortens the length of the labour. My own expereince of raspberry leaf tea was that I drank it every day from 37 weeks onwards (following the manufacturers max dosages) and when I ahd to be induced for medical reasons at 39 weeks my cervix was 3cm dilated already which is unusual for a first time mother. My labour was also very short. Could have been the tea or could just be a conincidence.

raspberry leaf tea can tone the uterus muscles so as with all muscles it makes them contract, hence why you should not try drinking b4 38 weeks, give it a go at your risk let baby stay in there for as long as possible, he will come when ready.
