What do people in India eat.?
Indian cuisine varies greatly from one state to the next, and particularly among the overall regions of India (north, south, east, west). Nearly all dishes in all areas are rich in flavour, but the spices used most prominently vary in each state. While many dishes are hot, many are not, so don’t fret if you don’t like hot food! There are a variety of curries, either vegetarian or focussing on a specific type of meat (chicken, lamb, fish, beef, goat…). These are either served over rice (you mix it together) or with one of the many types of flatbread…never both! Flatbreads are different in each region. Some of the types are: chappati, naan, roti, and puri. If a meal involves curries, there are usually a few types, and sometimes a dal (a lentil dish). This is usually accompanied by one or more side dishes, such as pickle (a very hot chutney!) or raita (a cooling dish made with yogurt and a few ingredients tossed in). Some dishes are all-in-one, such as biryani. This rice dish already
