What do newborn panda cubs look like?
The infant giant panda is pink and sparsely covered with white hair. It is blind, toothless and completely dependent upon its mother. Usually, it weighs 90 to 140 g (3 to 5 ounces) and is about 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 in) long at birth. Compared to the short length of an adults tail, an infant panda has a tail that is quite long with respect to its body length. After about a week, the characteristic black and white markings begin to appear.
