What do muskrats eat?
A hungry muskrat will be satisfied with just about any aquatic vegetation, as well as crops from fields. Cattail, bulrush, duck potato and water lily are some of the favorite muskrat delicacies. Corn, soybeans, wheat and oats are crops that muskrats will not hesitate to pluck and munch on. Grasses and clovers are also not exempt from the muskrat’s foraging. If they don’t eat these plants, they use them for homes.
