What do Model scouts look for…?
When specifically scouting – shopping centres, events, festivals etc – places where people are in numbers. Sometimes I`ll spot someone when generally out and about. I`ll also receive contacts from new models / those already in the industry asking me to assess potential and if I`m willing to recommend them to our agency. I`ll take in looks (face & body) and how the person deports themselves. I`ll try and get an idea of personality too. We cover a number of modelling genres so there is no specific look I search for unless directed by the boss who will know what assignments we have coming up and may require a specific look for it. When scouting I`ll hand out business cards and flyers with full details of the agency I represent. I carry full ID and will, if scouting in a public place like a Mall, have spoken to the manager / organisers and security staff.
