What do Leicester History graduates do with their degrees?
Many of our graduates continue their studies either in History and related subjects or take vocational qualifications in a range of areas including teaching, law, librarianship, museums and archives, journalism or accounting. Others move straight into employment in a wide range of careers in the public and private sectors that allow them to use the diverse skills that they have developed during the course. Examples include retail management, management consulting, public relations, marketing, human resources management, armed forces, publishing, civil service and local government. According to David Nicholls, who wrote a report on the employability of history graduates for the Higher Education Academy in 2005, “A remarkable number have gone on to become the movers and shakers of modern-day Britain.
