What Do Laptops in an Elementary School Classroom Look Like?
Obviously, this will look different for every classroom. As students and teachers get comfortable with the laptops, the technology often becomes less and less scheduled, and more and more a tool students will use when they need it. Recently, I walked into a fifth grade classroom, where three students were using a laptop on the floor to find more information for their report. Two students had laptops on their desks and were typing up information. One student was outside with headphones on watching a short video from Discovery Streaming. The teacher computer was hooked up the SMART Board, and two students were practicing for their presentation. Two doors down in the fourth grade classroom, five students were using computers from this same set of laptops (that lives in one of the fifth grade classrooms on shelves).
