Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that October of 1914 marks the return, or “presence”, of Christ as king of God’s kingdom, which is understood to have occurred invisibly in heaven. They believe that his first act as king was to throw Satan out of heaven. In 1918, those of the 144,000 who had died are believed to have been resurrected as spirit creatures to heavenly life.
