It looks pretty much like a normal toe, but the pain is sharp and intense. The nail still grows when it’s ingrown, but you may have a slight swollen, reddish area next to your toenail I had to have mine fixed with surgery, and it was worth it!

I think you would be more likely to feel it first. Look closely at the side of the nail look to see if it is growing into the flesh.Painful but sounds worse than it is Seek medical opinion. Don’t leave it too long.
