What do iguanas eat?
Iguanas are herbivore/foliovores which means they are designed to eat plant material only. In captivity, they eat a specially designed iguana “salad” that is nothing like salad for humans. You cannot throw any old combination of fruits and vegetables together and call it “iguana salad” because there are special considerations involved — some vegetables can actually harm an iguana if fed to it on a regular basis! One of the most popular recipes for iguana salad due to it’s simplicity is Melissa Kaplan’s Basic Salad Recipe.
