What do i need to know to become a songwriter?
Well, for a kick-off, ya need summin’ to write about, my sweet- say, a life experience, (be it good OR bad), an old romance, a current romance or whatnot. Basically, summin’ that holds a special meanin’ for YOU, ‘cos if YOU don’t feel what yer writin’, then yer audience sure as bloody hell ain’t gonna bleedin’ feel it, that’s a bloody dead cert! A little tip for ya: sometimes, the shittiest of life experiences turn out to make the best songs! Ya can either write the melody of the song beforehand and write words to it, or ya can write the lyrics first and set ’em to music, which is the way I, personally, prefer. Good luck, hon.
