What do I need to know about Property Insurance (ie Industrial Special Risk)?
Employees’ and students’ personal property lost, stolen or damaged on University premises is covered BUT an excess of $10,000 is payable. Clothing of staff members damaged during working hours is not covered, you should refer to the HRSD policy ‘Compensation for damage to clothing – procedure’. On becoming aware of a theft, willful or storm damage of/to University property, you must contact the local Police station, Deakin Security on ext.222 and/or complete the Insurance Report.
