What do I need to install WorkRoll?
If you opt to have WorkRoll.com host your WorkRoll installation, you don’t need anything. If you will host WorkRoll yourself, if you are a Windows user, all you need is this installer file. If you use an operating system other than Windows (or if you use Windows but want to have more control over your installation), all you need to install WorkRoll is a relatively recent (released after 2001 or so) version of an application server that supports JSP (sometimes called a “JSP container”). Such application servers unclude BEA WebLogic, IBM Websphere, ATG Dynamo, Apache Tomcat, Macromedia/Allaire JRun, Orion, SunONE, and many others. If you do not have a JSP-enabled application server, several of them are available for free (such as Tomcat) and are easy to install. You do not need a database server to use WorkRoll, which comes with its own database. Remember that WorkRoll.com can host your WorkRoll installation if you don’t wish to host it yourself (in that case, you don’t need anything to
