• Running water as well as vinegar in order to neutralize any lye spills. • Lye (Either Sodium Hydroxide – NaOH (for hard soaps), or Potassium Hydroxide – KOH (for liquid soaps) • Oils and/or fats (Usually when just starting out, it is advised for new soapers to use single-oil recipes, to get to know the properties of the oils on their own in soap. • Additives for your soap (Essential or Fragrance oils, Coloring agents, Exfoliants, Clays, Honey, Sugar, Oils for superfatting… the list could go on and on) • Water • A soap pot (Either Stainless Steel, Enamel, or Pyrex) NOT Regular Metal or Aluminum. • Utensils: Stainless steel spoons, or whisks • A rubber spatula for scraping the sides of your soap pot • Rubber Gloves • Something to mix the Lye in, It must be able to withstand temperatures of up to 200 degrees. • Goggles to protect your eyes from raw soap and lye. • Soap Molds (PVC, Wood, or Silicone… Alternatively you could make a mold out of cardboard boxes (I have used the flat rat
