What do I need to do to hire Maricopa faculty members for summer curriculum development work?
Maricopa employees hired for special projects or extra service are usually hired to work on an extended contract through the use of Special Services Employment Contract. Grant funding sources frequently specify that faculty paid in the summer be paid at the same monthly rate as their regular monthly rate during the academic year. Faculty cannot be paid for more than two summer months. Also, some grants involve faculty from a variety of educational partners working together and the partners may have agreed to budget the same set rate, such as $1,000 per week, for all participating faculty.
