In the most basic form of modern maintinence “tune ups”, you probably only need to replace the spark plugs, air, oil and fuel filters and perhaps replace or clean the pcv and egr valves. You could also do a full fluid flush (transmission, radiator, brakes). If your car is running poorly, don’t just start throwing money at it! 1996 was the first year of the OBD II diagnostics, take it to a dealer or certified mechanic to be run through the computer, it could be a clogged injector, or any number of other things. Find out first, and then fix it.
