What do Environmental Health Officers look for?
Environmental Health Officers (EHO’s) are dedicated to providing food handlers with advice and education for compliance with the Food Safety Standards. Food businesses are inspected on a regular basis using the Australian Food Safety Assessment sheet. During these inspections, EHO’s focus on the following food activities: • Receiving • Storage • Processing • Display • Packaging • Transportation/Distribution • Health and Hygiene • Premises Hygiene Food Business Notification Forms (FBN) The proprietor of a food businesses must complete a FBN form and return it to Council 14 days prior to commencing business. Temporary Food Businesses Temporary premises include structures set up for occasional events such as fetes, fairs or sausage sizzles. It is important that food safety standards are
