What do dull chest percussions indicate?
Dull chest percussions indicate that the lungs are not as full of air as they should be. This is most commonly caused in chest infection when the dullness may be generalised and caused by swollen tissue reacting to the infection. Or in cardiac failure when the dullness may be in the lower lobes because the compromised circulation is not clearing the lungs of liquid.
