What do doctoral studies in Urban Planning entail?
The program of study is to a certain extent designed for each student individually. It contains two basic courses (History and Theory of Planning, Research Seminar) and a set of courses determined by the student’s committee. It is expected that students will finish their coursework in a year to a year-and-a-half (depending on prior academic record) and pass their comprehensive exams, written and oral, in their second year. Dissertation work will ideally be completed before the end of the fourth year.
