What do councillors do?
The county council has put in place structures to enable councillors to drive forward the county council’s locality agenda. Councillors, as members of the Lancashire Local Committee, are closely involved in local decision making and can influence policy. The county council is responsible for services such as education, social services, highways and transportation and public protection. This often requires councillors to attend formal meetings that are usually held during the day.
