What do Corpsmembers wear to work?
You will receive an MHYC uniform when you start the program. The uniform consists of: t-shirt, BDU pants, sweatshirt, and baseball hat (full-time AmeriCorps members also receive a jacket & winter hat). You are required to be in uniform whenever you are working. Protective Gear, hard-hats, gloves, and eye-protection are also worn on all projects. MHYC provides hard-hats and gloves. Corpsmembers provide their own eye protection. Eye-pro could be prescription glasses or regular sunglasses. Wrap-around glasses are recommended. Eye-pro must be approved my MHYC. These three mandatory protections stave off the majority of safety hazards found in our work.
