What do contact lens cleaning solutions do?
Contact lens solutions do three things: (1) clean the lenses to remove over 90% of the germs that can grow on them; (2) disinfect to kill any germs on the lens to prevent eye infections; and (3) buffer and wet the lenses to make them more comfortable to wear. Almost all contact lenses need to be kept wet to prevent them from changing shape.
