What do confidence intervals represent?
A confidence interval is used to calculate statistics. Basically what it is a span of acceptable data. When you survey a certain target audience, say 100 random men in the age group of 20-30, and you ask them what kind of cola they prefer, you will get answers that may fluctuate or be inaccurate. Some people may not be honest, or they may choose to slant that data towards one answer or another. The confidence interval is how accurate you believe your statistics to be.
