What do communists actually believe?
Communism is a political ideology, not a religious one. However, because Communism’s ideal is the equality of people, a religion that puts a pope higher than others contradicts that. So, communism promotes atheism as an ideal for allowing people to be equal. That said, atheists are generally not communists outside of those countries. So, while communism tends to promote atheism, atheism doesn’t promote communism. Atheism really doesn’t promote any political ideology. At most, we tend to be against theocracies, but that’s about it. Atheism, itself, is not a cohesive group. We are just people who lack belief in any gods. Other than that, we’re diverse.
