What do colleges think of a bridge year?
Many colleges are very supportive of a bridge year. The period of time spent between high school graduation and college enrollment can add to a student’s maturity and give him or her a break from the many academic pressures of high school. Perhaps even more importantly, a year engaged in a meaningful experience abroad can provide students with a new international perspective that they will bring to their studies and to their college community.
