What do career center leaders mean when they talk about Pathways?
A designated Career Pathway may lead to many job opportunities! When a student decides to pursue a particular Career Major, he or she will gain skills that may lead to a variety of jobs. For example, a student who enrolls in Information Technology and enjoys interactive media may decide to concentrate on Web Design. But that student will also learn about business, marketing and design as well as computers. Similarly, a student who initially pursues Health Sciences for a dental assisting/health technology career will learn a great deal about science, health, interaction with people and management. These skills will be helpful if they decide later to pursue other high-demand health career opportunities.
