What do Black british people think about the history of black americans?
The history of Black British people is very similar to history of Black Americans, for a start we both share the same history of slavery. Black British people have also experienced severe discrimination and racism on the same level of Black Americans in Britain. I feel that Black Americans are more vocal about their experiences which is a good thing. I do not agree with the statement pokey banana gave, which was totally inaccurate about how the Black British are more at piece with their history because this is totally wrong! “The British Blacks seem more at peace with their history and don’t use it to beat the white man around the head with to the same staggering degree that the American blacks do.” (pokey banana) I for one, am really pissed about the way Black People, especially those of West Indian origin, have been treated and used and abused in the United Kingdom.
